Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
Making an immediate impact for the Winnipeg Jets organization and the NHL at large, Dale Hawerchuk would score 103 points during his inaugural season in 1981-82 while still a teenager – the youngest in history to top the 100-point plateau before Sidney Crosby – and would lead the Jets to a 48-point improvement over the 1980-81 season. Hailing from his personal collection, we have the puck Ducky used to score his 30th goal of the 1981-82 season, and it has been mounted to a small trophy display. At just under 8” in height, the Viceroy puck sports rubberized Jets and NHL logos, and has been glued within a crossed-stick and laurel wreath mount, with this attached to a tiered wooden base. A plaque affixed to the base lists the particulars including “Dale Hawerchuk”, “30th Goal Puck”, and “February 5, 1982”. The puck shows light wear with no damage, with the trophy stand showing some wear to the base and puck mount, with numerous scratches to the plaque. An LOA from the Hawerchuk family will accompany.
