Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Assorted and desirable items from 2001 Hall of Fame inductee Dale Hawerchuk are offered, including specimens from earlier in his career with the Winnipeg Jets. Included, we have a solid red Jets practice jersey with screened crest and Maska labeling, with nice use shown including considerable wear to the material and a few small slits, holes and marks, followed by a 1987 “Manitoba Male Athlete of the Year” award plaque (13” x 17”), with career highlights listed and light wear including a few scratches. Next, we have a Manitoba Special Olympics framed poster with Serge Savard (19” x 25”, with wear to the poster and frame), 1986 NHL All-Star Game framed team photo (11” x 14”, with a small tear to the photo) and pennant (29”, with heavy wear) and Jets wooden clock (has a broken piece and has missing hands). The equipment includes vintage Jofa 1444L elbow pads (one is missing a strap, with heavy wear and staining to the pair), vintage Vic knee pads (moderate wear with no damage), vintage CCM SG15 knee pads (exhibiting minor wear, unknown if used by Hawerchuk, with some age spotting), circa late-1970s Cooper helmet (a style of helmet he wore with the Cornwall Royals, but didn't wear black helmets with the club, only blue and white) and a vintage blue Jofa helmet (heavy wear, Dale’s son remembers playing street hockey with this helmet - not a style of helmet Dale wore in games with the Jets, unknown if worn by Hawerchuk in practices with the Jets). We should also note unless otherwise mentioned, it is unknown if the equipment items were used in games or practices. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA from the Hawerchuk family will accompany.
