Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

A first round draft selection of the San Jose Sharks, Devin Setoguchi spent time in the NHL with five different clubs along with stints in the Swiss NL and German DEL. This photo-matched Sharks jersey was worn by the Alberta native during the 2010-11 NHL season, including the Feb 19th contest the winger scored his first NHL hat trick. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the Sharks team crest in use since 2008-09 that features embroidered detailing, “16” is sewn to the sleeves, chest and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Setoguchi” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. Alternate crests also grace each shoulder, with the 20th anniversary patch situated on the left sleeve. The team patch sits on the inside hem, and it denotes issued and expiry dates of “2-19-11” and “4-10-11” respectively.
Exhibiting moderate game use, with heavy board burns over each sleeve, there are also material-backed team repairs, with three examples on the lower left sleeve and one on the right. There is also a price tag from the team store attached to the collar label. Getty Image # 109303293 (First NHL hat trick - Feb 19, 2011 vs Colorado) has been matched to the extended threading visible at the bottom right of the "1" of "16" over the right breast, as well as to the extended thread at the bottom of the "1" of "16" on the right sleeve, with this showing in the far left edge of the image. Getty Image #110404961 (March 12, 2001) has been matched to the two loose threads on the bottom area of the "6" on the right breast, and to the long loose black thread of the "6" of the right sleeve as well as the repaired holes on the lower left sleeve, while Getty Image #109881754 (March 5, 2011) has been matched to the two loose threads on the bottom area of the "6" on the right breast.
