Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
An important member of the late-1970s Montreal Canadiens dynasty, Risebrough played an important role as a two-way forward that also exhibited plenty of grit and offensive skill when needed. Offered here is a fine framed photo display featuring Risebrough in action against the New York Rangers at the Montreal Forum. The large modern print has been matted and features a metallic plate with his name, number, and team noted. There is some scuffing and scratches on the front side, which is understandable since it was on display in hockey’s revered temple. On the back, look for two removable narrow pieces of plywood which have been affixed by screws to assist in the mounting of the piece. The top piece does have some rubber adhesive residue on it, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. The backing paper is in excellent condition as well, which has a written notation of the player’s name. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
