Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
In the early-to-mid 1980s, the Canadiens were loaded with veteran talent that were part of the previous Stanley Cup dynasty like Guy Lafleur and Bob Gainey along with new blood like Guy Carbonneau that were ready to have the torch passed to them. Offered here is a fine framed photo display featuring a trio of future Hall of Fame members on the bench during a game at the legendary Montreal Forum, with the modern print matted. The frame does have some small indentations and scuffs on the front of the frame, which is understandable when since it was on display in hockey’s revered temple. On the back, there are some small tears in the backing paper, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
