Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Captaining the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1991 to 1994, Wendel Clark was selected by the blue and white first overall in 1985. Three separate stints in Ontario would be enjoyed, with the Leafs’ officially retiring Clark’s #17 in 2016. This signed stick was used by the superstar in 1991-92, and it’s accompanied by a Rapperswil-Jona Hockey Team souvenir jersey signed by Doug Gilmour (the Swiss team he played with during the labour dispute in 1994-95) and a fisherman’s style Leafs hat signed by Clark, Johnny Bower and Jack Valiquette. The stick is a Sher-Wood PMP 7000 model with “Clark W” and “17” stamped, with the original white tape on the handle and knob with “17” handwritten. The black blade tape has been removed to allow the large and somewhat faded signature placed on the backside of the blade in blue marker. Light game-use is exhibited, with just a few marks present on the blade and lower shaft. The Rapperswil-Jona Hockey Team jersey has all identifiers rubberized including “Gilmour” and “93” on the reverse, with a facsimile signature over the right breast and actual signature by Gilmour placed on the reverse. The hat was produced by AJM and is solid white with an embroidered Leafs logo, with all three players signing in black marker, with no issues for the signatures and light wear to the hat itself.
