Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The 2001-02 NHL season would serve as the Montreal Canadiens 93rd, with the Habs finishing the regular season in 4th place in the Northeast Division, with a record of 36-31-12-3. The Canadiens would defeat Boston in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs in six games before losing to Carolina in the second round, also in six games. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, we have a 2001-02 framed team photo, with this specimen possibly displayed originally at the Bell Centre. At approx 13 ½” x 15 ½”, the full team and management are pictured in the traditional on-ice pose, with each individual listed beneath. Double-matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 21 ½” x 23 ½” (no glass), there is light wear to the frame along with a few dark marks to the matte. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
