The Hobey Baker Award winner in 2016 for his outstanding senior year with Harvard, Jimmy Vesey was drafted by Nashville but made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers, in 2016-17. Three seasons would be spent in Manhattan before being acquired by the Buffalo Sabres. Purchased directly from the Toronto Maple Leafs, this photo-matched helmet was worn by the Massachusetts native in 2019-20. A Bauer model in Sabres navy blue with intact Bauer visor, “13” has been applied to the forehead and lower reverse, with Sabres decals gracing each side. There is also an NHL shield crest over the lower right and Sabres’ 50th anniversary sticker on the lower left. Sporting nice game-use with numerous scratches and surface abrasions visible, there are also a few additional scratches to the visor. Getty Image #1197218536 (Jan 28, 2020 vs Ottawa) has been matched to the surface abrasion visible directly to the left of the “13” over the forehead, with the Sabres decal and “13” over the forehead also showing correct placement. An LOA from the Toronto Maple Leafs will accompany, and it states that the helmet was worn by Vesey with Buffalo during the 2019-20 season before being dealt to Toronto.
