Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Arguably the best overall player in the NHL today, veteran Sidney Crosby has accomplished what most hockey players can only dream about, with literally every possible major award and honour earned throughout his soon-to-be legendary career including a trio of Stanley Cup championships, all while captaining the Pittsburgh Penguins. Reaching back to his first season with the Pens as an 18-year-old straight out of the Q, we have a signed stick used by the superstar during his rookie campaign in 2005-06, with the stick originally gifted to an equipment manager by the Pens Dana Heinze. A Sher-Wood Momentum Comp model with textured surface and inserted Sher-Wood 1050 blade, “Crosby 87” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft along with “110 Flex”, with the original black tape covering the blade and white spiral pattern over the handle with “87” handwritten. Showing light game-use with wear to the taped section of blade which includes a pair of small tears, there is also a small chip at the toe. Crosby has added a thin silver ink signature to the frontside blade that is a bit light but displays nicely. An LOA will accompany from the equipment manager that received the stick from Dana Heinze. A JSA Auction LOA will also be included for the Crosby signature.
