Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Attended by noteworthy dignitaries Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Quebec Premier Jean Charest as well as a handful of legendary players including Gordie Howe, a black tie event was held on March 29, 2007 to honour the on and off-ice accomplishments of one of hockey’s favourite sons, Jean Beliveau. Hailing from the historic event, we have a collection of 26 substantial event photo displays. Especially large at 36” x 48”, each image has been mounted to a Styrofoam backing, with Jean’s iconic “4” over each base along with text that proclaims “Hommage à Jean Beliveau". A number of charming and personal family photos were utilized along with game-action images. There are small holes over each top corner to facilitate mounting, with moderate wear to the group resulting from their former use and storage. A unique collection honouring one of the game’s all-time greatest. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included. It should be noted that due to the large sizes of these displays, we recommend picking them up at our office or making special shipping arrangements.
