Registering 106 points which included 50 wins; more than enough to top the NHL at the conclusion of the 1986-87 campaign, the Edmonton Oilers would loose only two postseason contests en route to the Stanley Cup finals. The Philadelphia Flyers would battle the Oilers for Lord Stanley’s approval, with the boys from Alberta claiming their third championship in four years after a hard-fought seven-game series. This lot offers a desirable collection of Edmonton Oilers ticket stubs from the 1986-87 season totaling 30, with The Great One factoring heavily in most contests. Wayne would account for 69 points including 25 goals and 44 assists in all 30 games, with 6 2-goals games along with a pair of hat tricks. This also includes 6 3-point games, 6 4-point games and an especially impressive pair of 5-point games. Other important tickets include Mike Krushelnyski’s 300th NHL game (Oct 15), Jari Kurri’s first natural hat trick (Oct 17), Mark Messier’s 500th game (Oct 26), Andy Moog’s 200th NHL Game (Dec 3), Wayne Gretzky’s 41st hat-trick, 9th four-goal game and 6th natural Hat-trick (Dec 17), Paul Coffey’s 500th NHL Game (Dec 28), Glenn Anderson’s 500th NHL Game (Feb 15), Kevin Lowe’s 600th NHL Game (March 7), and Jari Kurri “50th Goal in 70 Games” (March 17). The majority of the ticket stubs remain in pleasing condition, with just light handling wear, with the Oct 15, Oct 26 and Nov 28 stubs exhibiting creasing. A number of the stubs also have a piece of clear tape added.
