Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

With their 106 points more than enough to top the NHL at the conclusion of the 1986-87 season, the Edmonton Oilers would lose only two postseason contests while advancing to the Stanley Cup finals. Philadelphia would serve as the Oilers victim, with the boys from Alberta earning their third Stanley Cup championship after a close seven-game series. This lot offers a desirable collection of PSA graded Edmonton Oilers full tickets from the 1986-87 season totaling 14, with 3 tickets graded EX-MT 6, 6 tickets graded NM 7 and 5 tickets graded NM-MT 8. Factoring heavily in most contests, The Great One would account for 23 points including 3 goals and 20 assists in all 14 games. This includes 3 3-point games and 1 5-point game (Oct 15). Other important tickets include Esa Tikkanen’s 1st NHL Hat Trick (Oct 15), Glenn Anderson’s 500th NHL Game (Feb 15), Kevin Lowe’s 600th NHL Game (March 7), and Jari Kurri’s 50th Goal in 70 Games (March 17).
There is some duplication, with doubles for the Feb 15th and March 17th matches, and we should note that the Jan 9th PSA label lists two goals for Gretzky, with this incorrect, as Wayne didn’t get any points in the contest. There is also some damage to the upper right corner of the PSA holder for the Feb 15th ticket.
