Serving as Vezina Trophy runner-up along with Rogie Vachon in 1975, Gary Edwards saw single games of action with St Louis in 1968-69 and 1969-70 before parts of six seasons in Los Angeles with the Kings. We have a goal mask worn by Edwards with the Kings during the early-to-mid-1970s. A Jacques Plante Fibrosport pro fiberglass model with intact and repaired leather and canvas straps and featuring the original white surface, there are marks and surface wear visible and no cracks, with a few of the original interior pads now gone. Getty Image #82630701 (undated) appears to show the exact mask, with the hole patterns matching, with a few of the wear marks including around the right eye opening, the top right hole and around the bridge of the nose appearing to match, but the image is grainy and not clear enough to be called a definitive photo-match.
Addendum; An image of Edwards is showing the chipping on the upper edge of the top hole on the right ear side of the mask, although not an high resolution image, it shows the chipping on that same area of the hole. With the previously mentioned matching details of the mask to Getty Image #82630701, especially the black mark near the top right hole, we consider the mask to be photo-matched.
