Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Created when employees Cecil John Weeks and Jack Cooper purchased R. H. Cameron’s General Leather Goods, Cooper Weeks began in 1946, with the company renamed Cooper of Canada when Weeks sold-out to Cooper in 1971. Produced in the 1980s for prominent store display, we have an original oversized Cooper hockey glove. At approx 15" x 28" and appearing made to scale, constructed of the same material used to produce their famous hockey handwear, the red, white and blue creation sports proper Cooper identifiers including an embroidered logo over the wrist guard and cloth patch just below the palm. There is light overall wear present, with the colours remaining vibrant and the material supple, with a few small marks and blemishes visible – but not from game-use! This formidable piece would be ideal to display with your vintage gloves and equipment.
