Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
Earning the lofty title of “Fight of the Century”, Joe Frazier took on an undefeated Muhammad Ali at Madison Square Garden in the spring of 1971, and defying an anonymous death threat of “lose or die”, Smokin’ Joe stunned onlookers in the 15-round classic, knocking Ali to the canvas before earning a unanimous decision. Ali would later receive a unanimous decision in the pair’s second fight, in 1974. This oversized framed photo from the “Fight of the Century” has been signed by the legendary slugger. At 20” x 24” and picturing Ali in movement with Frazier hitting air, the champ signed in silver near his image, with the thick autograph displaying well. Framed to full dimensions of 27” x 33”, a sticker from PSA/DNA numbered “3A35231” has been affixed to the bottom right, with a matching LOA to accompany.
