Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Featuring the desirable image of the man responsible for the greatest sporting trophy competed for by the best hockey teams in existence, we have an antique ceramic souvenir plate commemorating Lord Stanley, the 16th Earl of Derby’s appointment as Mayor of Preston Guild in 1902. At 9 ½” in diameter with scalloped edges and featuring a reddish-hue image of Guild Hall, “Earl Derby K.G. Guild Mayor” appears beneath Lord Stanley’s image, with the guild’s crest along the top. Remaining uncracked, there is surface wear including scratches over the front and verso, with no obtrusive marks or staining.
