Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
One of the most exciting players to ever grace the venue, Guy Lafleur thrilled Montreal Forum fans for over a dozen seasons, with "Guy! Guy! Guy!” a common chant among loyal spectators. This historically significant Montreal Forum single blue seat was removed from the famous arena after the final game was played there on March 11, 1996, and it’s been signed by the legendary HOFer. At just under 36” in height, the original number “10” remains stenciled in white on the seat back along with “Guy Lafleur” (in script) and his Stanley Cup wins, with a Habs logo over the upper right. Guy has signed over the upper left, with the small and thin blue ink signature displaying well. “8/10” has also been added to the lower left to show this edition is limited. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Additional Canadiens’ logos in solid red sit embossed on each of the lower supports, with “1924-1996” beneath, with the seat’s blue covering sporting a single tear with a small area of material loss on the right side. There is also some very minor chipping to the paint along the reverse edge of the seat back, with this mentioned strictly for accuracy, with some light wear to the legs/supports as well.
