Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Team Canada's 2004 World Cup of Hockey title is commemorated by this magnificent championship ring. Presented to Simon Gagne, who contributed ten points in nine games, including three goals and seven assists, the 10K white gold and diamond creation by Intergold features a vintage-style Hockey Canada maple leaf in white gold with red enameling surrounded by diamonds on the tableau. Pairs of diamonds are set on both the left and right side of the bezel between "World Cup" and "Champions" in raised white gold letters. A total of 40 diamonds are set around the bottom of the bezel, 10 on each of the four sides. The right shank has two diamonds set in a World Cup logo with red and black enameling, with "20" and "04" in each corner at the top, and "Carry on the Tradition" on a banner across the bottom in raised white gold. The left shank features "Gagne", an enamel Hockey Canada logo and Simon's number "21", also in raised white gold. "Intergold" and "10K" are stamped inside the size 9 band.
Heavy wear from use is present throughout, with a number of edges worn down along the bezel, with numerous scratches visible over the bands and shanks. There are also several edge dings and small gouges, with no obtrusive damage.
