Expected to be selected 1st overall at the upcoming 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Alexis Lafreniere was the premier selection of the Rimouski Océanic in 2017 and earned the QMJHL Rookie of the Year award while being named to the First All-Star team. The Oceanic captain also wore the “C” for Team Canada, leading his nation to the gold medal at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. This signed Rimouski Oceanic “Pink in the Rink” jersey was worn by the soon-to-be superstar during the 2017-18 QMJHL season, specifically in the October 28, 2017 game vs Sherbrooke Phoenix, won by Rimouski with Lafreniere scoring the first goal. CCM/CHL labeling is affixed to the collar along with a “52” size tag, with a CCM crest over the reverse neckline and CHL logo over the reverse hem. Featuring a sublimated team crest and graphics, “11” appears rubberized over the sleeves and verso, with “Lafreniere” across the upper reverse in matching material.
We should note that on Nov 12, 2017, a draw was held by the Oceanic for the team jerseys worn on Oct 28, 2017, including the offered specimen, and it was won by our consignor, with the winning information provided. This has also been confirmed via email by the club. Lafreniere has signed within the first reverse “1” in black marker, with the signature displaying well. The jersey shows light game-use, with a few small random marks visible.
