Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A member of the NHL’s All-Rookie Team in 2012-13, Justin Schultz was selected 43rd overall by Anaheim in 2008, and made his NHL debut for the Edmonton Oilers, on Jan 20, 2013 vs Vancouver. Schultz would spend parts of four seasons in Alberta before being traded to Pittsburgh, on Feb 27, 2016. We have a signed retro-style Oilers jersey worn by the Kelowna native during the third period, on Jan 22, 2013 vs San Jose. Elite labeling with a size “58” fly tag grace the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar oil drop team crest, the royal blue V-neck has been accented with layered tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “J. Schultz” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. The team patch is situated on the inner hem along with a crest from MeiGray numbered “JH05453”, and according to their population report, the garment is a "Blue Retro Set 1" example. An LOA from the Edmonton Oilers will accompany.
Schultz has signed the reverse “9”, with the signature bleeding into the background material just slightly. Exhibiting just very light game-use, there is a stick mark over the left sleeve. The date and opponent of the game the jersey was worn in is handwritten on the fight strap, and we should also note an error on the accompanying LOA, where "Nail Yakupov" is listed instead of Justin Schultz.
