Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Leading O-Pee-Chee’s 1985-86 hockey card set is the rookie card of the legendary Mario Lemieux, with the example here recently returning from PSA headquarters where it received a mark of NM 7. Less-than-perfect centering is observed while the remainder of the ensemble features similar NM entries of Al MacInnis’ rookie and Mario’s #262-Rookie Scoring Leaders card. Displayed in 9-pocket Ultra Pro pages, others appear to be mostly NM-or-better, with plenty of NM-MT and higher cards to come upon. The odd intermittent not-sharp corner is spotted, with some notable second-year cards among the condition exceptions; a corner ding to the Gilmour card, three involved with Chelios and diamond cuts affecting Yzerman, Neely and Lafontaine are a reminder that perfection and near perfection are difficult to attain. We’ve shown the key cards, some RCs and some of those of the then-defending Stanley Cup champion Oilers – have a look and click, click or tap, tap if enticed.
