Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
Trailing only Gordie Howe for the most all-time points at the time of his retirement in 1981, Phil Esposito secured over 700 goals throughout his HOF career, with selection to the NHL First All-Star Team six times. This stick was issued to the superstar for the 1971 NHL All-Star Game in Boston. A Northland Custom Pro model with “Esposito” and “7” over the shaft, a stamp from team supplier Woody Dumart is visible, with remnants of the Bruins striping accents over the lower shaft. One side has been shaved down to facilitate the heavily faded red marker signatures that are present but illegible, with a black ink notation of “NHL All Star Game @ Boston Garden – 1971” written on the lower front side. There is some age and storage wear present on the stick, but no damage.
