Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Game-used and game-issued lumber featuring four noteworthy netminders chosen to guard the crease of hockey’s greatest franchise is offered, with a collection of five sticks from Montreal Canadiens goaltenders including two matching game-issued sticks from Carey Price, signed and game-issued sticks from Patrick Roy and Jocelyn Thibault, and a signed game-used stick from Jose Theodore. First, the Price sticks are CCM 500 models with “C. Price” stamped to each upper shaft, with this specific type of model used by Price in 2012-13 and 2013-14. Next, the Roy (mid-to-late-1990s) and Thibault sticks are both KOHO revolution models with the respective player’s name over the upper shaft (the Roy is quite faded but visible), with a date code to the Thibault of “24 AVR 2006”. Each has been signed across the front side blade – Roy in silver (a couple very small smudges), Thibault in black – with a personalization partially removed on the Thibault stick. Lastly, the Theodore is a Sher-Wood SOP model with “Theodore” stamped to the upper shaft and the original tape jobs intact on the blade, handle and upper shaft. This type of model was used in the early-2000s. Nice game-use is exhibited, with chipping along the top edge of the paddle. The top edges of the paddle have also been custom-shaved, with Theodore adding a black marker signature to the blade. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
