Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2020
Forward-turned-respected hockey analyst Mike Johnson donned this Leafs gamer during the 1999-2000 campaign, his last of four years with the club before departing for Tampa Bay and beyond, and its accompanied by a pair of game-used gloves from 1997-98. Tagged in the collar as a size 56, this CCM jersey has both the “NHL 2000” and “2000 All-Star Game” patches sewn on the right breast, along with a “1999-2000 Game-Worn Leafs Set 2 Limited-Edition” patch sewn on the inside hem. The gamer also shows marks scattered about the front and on both sleeves, along with a few more on the back. Johnson has signed the inside of the team crest in black marker, adding his number. The 1997-98 gloves were acquired directly from the Leafs in 1998 and are CCM Pro Guard models in Toronto blue with “Johnson” over each wrist guard, with heavy use exhibited throughout including rubbing to the leather in spots and wear to the palms. This model was used by Johnson in 1997-98 while scoring 47 points – his best season with the Leafs, and also during the 1998-99 season and playoffs. Also included is an 8x10 signed photo of Johnson with the Maple Leafs from 1999-2000. Photo exhibits a few light fold lines but overall displays well.
