This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
A member of the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2002, Ilya Kovalchuk scored 876 points throughout his 926 regular-season NHL contests, with appearances at six NHL All-Star Games. The Russian superstar also represented his nation internationally at every level. From his time with the Atlanta Thrashers, we have a stick used by Kovalchuk in 2003-04. A Bauer Vapor model with “Kovalchuk” factory graphics, the original white tape remains over the blade and yellow tape on the handle, with a production code on the underside of the shaft. Great game-use is exhibited on the composite, with wear and marks to both sides of the blade along with some minor chipping at the heel. There is also some sticky residue over two areas of the shaft. We should further note that this is the type of model stick that was used by Kovalcvhuk at the 2004 World Cup. Originating from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
