Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
First gaining seasoning in his home province with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Q, Sergio Momesso made his NHL debut for Montreal in 1983-84, seeing action in a single contest before appearing in 24 games with the Habs during the 1985-86 NHL season. This Canadiens jersey was produced for the 1984-85 season and was worn by Momesso at either training camp and/or during the preseason, and considering the amount of wear present, was likely recycled and worn during the 1985-86 season. No labeling remains along the collar, with the vintage jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Styled with the classic CH team crest in layered tackle twill, “36” appears over the sleeves and verso in blue-over-red twill, with an embroidered CCM crest with asterisk over the reverse hem. Sporting great game-use, there are dark marks throughout including a few large stick marks across the lower front, with paint transfer on the front hem and near the left elbow. There are also team repairs visible, with examples over the front (6), reverse (1) and sleeves (2).
