Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

One of the most underrated offensive talents of his time, Savard was on the cusp of big things when he became a member of the Atlanta Thrashers. His 2003-04 campaign was marred by injuries, but he still managed to impress and came into his own with 52 points over 45 games. Included in this lot is a pair of dual-signed and photo-matched Atlanta Thrashers gloves from that season along with a game-used stick from his time with the long-departed club. The Eagle CP94 gloves are both signed in black ink and can each be matched to Getty images photos from Atlanta’s victory over the New Jersey Devils on February 27, 2004. Marks on the “E” and “G” of Eagle on the right cuff show up in image #53084629 while image #53084654 matches up the marks in the "G" of Eagle on the cuff of the right and of the left glove. Savard’s surname has also been stitched into the outer cuff on each. There are signs of game wear with black marks on the yellow right thumb and the both gloves have a great deal of wear around the Eagle logo. Sweat stains can be seen in the palms on both while the right glove also has a hole in the palm. Also included here is a game-used Marc Savard TPS Response Plus stick. Signed on the shaft where the red and black areas meet, there is plenty of wear on the shaft and taped areas remain intact, with his number 9 written in black ink at the bottom of the blue grip. There is also a cryptic notation on the reverse side of the shaft in silver ink which appears to be “ZITJ070”. All these items come from the personal collection of an important hockey executive with his signed LOA to accompany.
