Registering six 100-point seasons throughout his Hall of Fame career, Joe Sakic possessed one of the greatest wrist shots in the game, and earned a number of awards including the Hart Memorial, Conn Smythe and Lady Byng on top of two Stanley Cups. Moving with the Quebec Nordiques to Colorado for the beginning of the 1995-96 season and winning his first Stanley Cup in the team's first season in "The Mile High City" offered here is this helmet worn by Sakic during the circa 2002-03 season. A Nike made bucket in black with a white swoosh logo over the front crown, the helmet retains all its original padding on the interior (despite some of it coming loose) as well as the complete original strapping harness and chin strap. Displaying Avalanche logo decals over each side of the helmet as well as an NHL shield sticker over the lower reverse and number decals for Sakic's number "19", the helmet remains in overall good condition for its effort, showing some scuffs, scratches and abrasions throughout its entirety. Of note, a sticker reading "00.02.10" is affixed on the interior of the piece, possibly pointing to the manufacturing date. Having been signed by Sakic over the top of the helmet with a silver marker ink signature that has largely worn away with time, the helmet comes from the personal collection from an important hockey executive and is accompanied by his signed LOA.
