Completing the regular season in top spot for the first time in franchise history, the Boston Bruins would lose only 10 matches in 1938-39, with the season serving as a changing of the guard. Eddie Shore would play in his final full season in Beantown, while a future HOF goaltender named Frank Brimsek would make his NHL debut. The Bruins would dispatch of the Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup final to claim their first championship in a decade. This original framed photo features the 1938-39 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins. At 7 ½” x 13” (exposed), the glossy print depicts the full club including Art Ross in the familiar on-ice team pose, with the clarity especially sharp. The photo has been matted and placed in what appears to be the original 11” x 16 ½” period frame, with a sticker over the reverse from Copley Art Store on Boylston Street in Boston.
The photo exhibits a few minor creases, indentations and surface lines, with no staining or tears visible. The frame shows expected wear commensurate with its age and use.
