This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Utterly shocking the hockey world, the announcement that Wayne Gretzky was traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988 thrilled the state of California while stunning our entire nation. The Great One would spend eight seasons in Tinseltown, helping popularize hockey in the US. This solid black Kings jersey set in an attractive matte has been signed by the legendary superstar. Featuring Wayne’s iconic “99” with the jersey mounted with the reverse showing, “Gretzky” is sewn to the upper reverse in single white twill, with a name plaque placed below flanked by Kings pins on each side. Gretzky has signed within the first “9” in black, with the signature displaying beautifully against the lighter background. A hologram from WGA has been affixed beneath, matted to full dimensions of approx 32” x 34”. This matted jersey is ready for a quality frame. A WGA COA will accompany.
