Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A halfback with the Ottawa Rough Riders before his professional hockey days, George Boucher spent 17 seasons with the Senators in the nation’s capital which included winning four Stanley Cup championships, with additional seasons spent with the Montreal Maroons and Chicago Black Hawks. Originating from the incomparable autograph collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, we have a note handwritten and signed by the early star. At just 3 ½” x 8”, George lists the address of his brother Bill, with the blue ink signature displaying nicely with no issues. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1960, Boucher would pass from throat cancer just three weeks later, at age 65.
With no issues for the text or signature, we should note that the small communication was likely trimmed to accommodate fitting into an album, with a few large horizontal creases present.
