After collecting six Stanley Cup rings during his 14-year playing career with the Montreal Canadiens, Jacques Laperriere in 1986 claimed his first of two additional championship rings as an assistant coach with the storied franchise. We have a gorgeous 10K gold and diamond ring that was presented to the Hall of Fame member for the Canadiens status as 1986 Stanley Cup champions. Size 9 ½ with an approx weight of 34 grams, 23 magnificent and shimmering diamonds – one for each franchise championship – have been set within a raised CH logo in gold over the tableau, encompassed by “Coupe Stanley Cup Champions” and “1986” in sloping letters/numerals. The ring’s left shank has “Canadiens” in raised letters above an embossed image of the Stanley Cup with 23 engraved on the top of the barrel and an NHL crest beneath. A banner flying behind the Cup is engraved with the results of the Canadiens’ four playoff series wins. The right shank features “Laperriere” in raised letters above a gold CH logo in red, white and blue enamel. “A. Coach” is engraved on a gold panel beneath the team logo. The inner band is stamped with a Balfour hallmark and “10K”. A signed LOA from Jacques Laperriere will accompany, and please take note that this item may be subject to a silent reserve.
The ring exhibits heavy wear, with scratches, dings and small grooves visible throughout from use, with all of the diamonds over the tableau intact. We should also note that most of the white and blue enameling from the center of the Canadiens logo over the right shank is completely gone, with a small area of blue enameling missing along the perimeter.
