Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Traditionally regarded as the most significant moment in Canadian sports history, Paul Henderson’s goal against the Soviet Union with 0:34 seconds left on the clock helped propel Canada to victory at the 1972 Summit Series. The celebration following that goal has been captured perfectly in this artistic rendition by the respected artist Daniel Parry, and it has been beautifully signed in pencil by Henderson along with the artist. Numbered “2125/2500”, the 18” x 24” print has been double-matted to full dimensions of approx 28” x 32”. Accompanying the framed print, we have a CSKA Moscow jersey signed by Vladislav Tretiak. Featuring Russian labeling along the collar, all identifiers have been sublimated, with Tretiak signing the reverse “2” in black marker, with the signature a bit light. As an added bonus, a second jersey is included with the lot, with this 1972 Team Canada replica by Roger Edwards having “XL” sizing along with a tackle twill team crest and numbers. A LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany, along with a COA for the Parry lithograph.
