Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

Winning Stanley Cup championships throughout four decades, Jacques Laperriere first sipped from Lord Stanley’s hardware after just his second full NHL season, in 1964-65. The Hall of Fame member would win six championships with the Montreal Canadiens as a player, earning an additional pair as an assistant coach with the Habs in 1986 and 1993. From his final championship which also serves as the last Stanley Cup victory for the Canadiens, we have the 1993 Stanley Cup championship 14K gold and diamond ring presented to the 1964 Calder Memorial winner. Originally a size 10 and now resized by our consignor to a size 13, the ring sports a weight of 34 grams. A raised Stanley Cup inset with 24 diamonds – one for each Habs championship – sits over a gold base, encompassed by an additional 22 shimmering diamonds with “1993” in raised numerals beneath. The ring’s right shank has "Laperriere" in raised letters above an enamel and gold Canadiens logo, with "A. Coach" beneath it in raised gold letters. The left shank has "Canadiens Montreal" in raised letters above a raised gold Stanley Cup centennial logo, with "24 Together" beneath it in gold. The inner band has “14K” and “Everest” engraved, with an LOA signed by Jacques Laperriere to accompany.
Exhibiting very heavy wear throughout, a number of scratches, nicks and small gouges are visible along the outer band and shanks, with additional scratches and wear to the inner band. Despite the heavy wear from use, each and every diamond over the top remains intact.
