Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Two months past his 20th birthday and the same summer as cards like this were discovered by kids in packs of Topps cards was when Henry Aaron made his big league debut with the Milwaukee Braves, wearing #5 and playing left field in the Braves' season opener in Cincinnati. Aaron would smack his first 13 home runs that summer, en route to becoming the breaker of Babe Ruth's long-standing career mark. Featuring Hank's impressive minor league statistics/laurels on the back, his coveted rookie card here was recently graded GOOD 2 by PSA. A 1-1/4" horizontal crease, from the left edge, through the black and white image and to the youngster's chin and a white spec (forehead) are notable. A good-looking GOOD RC of the all-time GREAT!
