This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A member of hockey royalty as the son of longtime Blueshirt Lynn Patrick and the grandson of famous hockey guru Lester Patrick, Craig Patrick carved out his own impressive career, beginning at the University of Denver, with NHL time spent with California, St. Louis, Kansas City and Washington. The Detroit native also represented the US internationally, and served as the Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach on the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” US Olympic Team. Originating from his personal collection, this lot offers a group of items from Patrick’s career including pants worn with Team USA in the 1970s, a Team USA equipment bag, two pairs of signed skates game-used in the 1970s and three pairs of uniform socks. There is also a trio of signed jerseys, with a Heroes of Hockey jersey likely worn in an oldtimers game, a signed “Integra Celebrity Hockey” jersey (most likely worn) and a signed Pittsburgh Penguins jersey (Patrick was the General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins from 1989 to 2006).
First, the pants are CCM models in solid red, with blue stars affixed along each side. The lacing and suspenders are intact, with moderate to heavier wear present and no damage. The skates are Micron and Lange molded models with intact lacing, with each sporting moderate to heavier wear including some rusting to the blades, with Patrick signing each right skate in silver. The socks include a pair in Team USA colours, a white pair with black and orange striping, and a solid purple pair with a single white band. All three pairs show game use. The CCM equipment bag has “Team USA” affixed in individual letters, with moderate to heavier wear present. Lastly, the jerseys each feature tackle twill crests and numbering, with Patrick signing each over the reverse in black marker.
