An early Montreal Canadiens' superstar and one of the club's all-time most electrifying performers combine in the this encapsulated duo of Hall of Famers, with right winger Didier Pitre's rookie card among the first hockey cards ever issued and the example here graded VG 3 by PSA. Pitre is said to have had the hardest shot in hockey and led the National Hockey Association is assists and points in 1915-16, the season he helped the Habs to the franchise's first-ever Stanley Cup championship. He donned the Canadiens uniform for 13 seasons, one more than the iconic Howie Morenz, the latter's classic image appearing here on a card issued by the Hamilton Chewing Gum company in 1933-34. Soiling/toning on the front and a subtle dime-size moisture stain on the upper back (and not heavy unsightly creasing) led to the PR 1 mark that card #8 received from PSA. The write-up on the reverse concisely sums up Morenz's prowess, concluding with "Considered the best all-around hockey player now and by far, the most colorful." Two superstars of yesteryear await your encapsulated pre-war/Canadiens shrine.
