Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Currently serving as the general manager of Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League, netminder Tommy Salo enjoyed a lengthy NHL stay that included guarding the creases of the New York Islanders, Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers, with additional time representing Sweden internationally. We have a signed Oilers jersey worn by the Surahammar native in 2000-01, where he logged 73 starts. CCM “Goalie Style” and Elite labels are affixed to the collar along with a size “58” fly tag, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar tear-drop Oilers team crest, the white V-neck jersey has been accented with tri-layer tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching oil rig patches over each shoulder. Salo has signed the team crest in thin black ink, with the signature bleeding into the material somewhat. Showing nice game use with marks over the front and sleeves, there is also light pilling to the collar, with a bit of discolouration in spots, including over each cuff. The team patch is situated on the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “Set #2” example.
