Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A New York Islanders draft choice in 1994, Jason Strudwick had his NHL time split amongst five different clubs, with lengthy stays in Vancouver and Edmonton. This Oilers alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the large defenceman in 2009-10, his second season in Alberta. An Elite Sportswear label and “58+” size tag are affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the classic oil drop team crest with embroidered detailing, “43” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Strudwick” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. A few scuff marks and fabric pulls are visible over the lower front and sleeves, with a few dark marks over the right shoulder. The team patch reside on the inside hem denoting the garment as a “Set #3” example, while a similarly-placed patch from MeiGray numbered “G09762” matches the accompanying LOA from the Oilers.
