Considered by longtime North Star Lou Nanne as the best clutch goal scorer the franchise ever had, Steve Payne was drafted 19th overall my Minnesota in 1978, and would spend his entire career with the club. This Ottawa 67’s jersey was worn by Payne during his time in the OHL during the late-1970s, specifically in 1976-77 and 1977-78. A mostly detached Wilson label with “46” sizing is affixed to the collar, with no other tagging present. Styled with a layered tackle twill team crest, “19” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with no nameplate on the tie-neck garment. Heavy use is exhibited, with numerous marks and stains present, with wear including scuffing to the material and identifiers, with a few holes visible along with large team repairs over each sleeve. A few digital images appear to be showing the black marks at the right of the "19" on the right sleeve and some additional marks on the front of the jersey, but photos are not high resolution enough to call definitive photo-matches.
