Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

This Ottawa Senators black road jersey from the 1998-99 season was most likely recycled for pre-season use by goalie Mike Fountain prior to either the 1999-2000 or 2000-01 seasons. Fountain only played one game in 2000-01 and it was a home game. There is a slim possibility the jersey was worn by Fountain on the bench in 2000-01 as a back-up goalie, but he spent most of the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, where he went 34-10-6 in 52 games in the old IHL. There is evidence of a former shorter nameplate on this preseason gamer with goalie style and size 58 flag tags in the neck and CCM and NHL embroidered logos on the right rear tail. Game use shows in a diagonal black mark on the red portion of the team crest, which has a few thread pulls at the bottom, red paint transfer on the lower part of each sleeve near the cuff, white marks near the left sleeve cuff, and black marks to the left of the No. 30 on the right sleeve. There are marks and light reddish-brown stains on the white band on the front and rear tails. Comes with a Senators LOA.
