Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
This dazzling 8" x 10" glossy photo is autographed by 17 men who, in the spring of 1940, brought New York its third Stanley Cup championship. After getting past the Bruins in six semi-final games, the Rangers beat the Maple Leafs in six, winning three of them in overtime including the 3-2 finale on Bryan Hextall's Cup-winning goal. Hextall is one of seven deceased Hall-of-Famers whose fountain pen signatures grace this terrific keepsake. The others are Lynn Patrick, team captain Art Coulter, Babe Pratt, Neil Colville, Clint Smith and head coach Frank Boucher. The supporting cast includes Kerr, Heller, Pike, Watson, Shibicky, Hiller, MacDonald, Mac Colville, Murray Patrick, and team trainer Harry Westerby. All the sigs are nice and bold. The photo presents well, but it was glued into a scrapbook lovingly kept by a Rangers fan and the back side features a nice glued picture of Hiller from a Rangers program.
