Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

All sorts of fun to be had here, with Canadian issues the most interesting/appealing. Five 1950s Dixie lids (Kiner, Ashburn, Slaughter) have Canadian advertisers on the back, while coins are highlighted by three dozen 1962 Shirriff plastic jobs, led by Clemente, Aaron, Kaline and Yaz. Big names are numerous in O-Pee-Chee cards from 1968 and up, with the likes of Mays, Ryan, Reggie, Bench, Rose, Seaver, Gibson, Fisk, Schmidt and others joining the aforementioned and appearing multiple times - a great lineup! Topps entries from the '50s and '60s are less inspiring and mostly commons, with however Spahn ('54) and Snider ('57) present, along with (21) '59 Fleer Ted Williams cards. Please see our website for more details/images - this is a cool grab bag.
Condition of the latter segment ('50s & '60s Topps, Williams lot) is not great, with VG and lesser lights dominating. Most Topps years, starting in 1954, are represented and include notably (20) '54s, some three dozen from '55 and '57 and a little over five dozen from both '59 and '62. Nothing really calling out to be submitted to the pro graders among the O-Pee-Chee cards either, but condition in the '70s is superior, with plenty of crease-free examples. .....Other items of interest include a '54 Sports Illustrated insert with images of Topps baseball cards (exhibits handling/creasing/small tears), three PSA-graded '54 Quaker Sports Oddities cards (#10-Black Hawks VG-EX 4, 12-Dartmouth/Utah Basketbell NM 7, 25-College Football VG 3), a complete set (24) of 1970 Topps poster inserts (VG-EX) and a partial set (18/24 but in low grade) and other baseball coins; (10) '62 Salada (no high grade, with Wynn the only notable), five '63 Junkett (Mays and Marichal show light rim wear), a dozen '64 Topps (low grade but with Mays and Aaron) and (15) 1969 Citco metal coins. We should note that the three dozen '62 Shirriff plastic coins are overall in attractive condition, exhibiting minimal handling, with the exception of a few with edge chips. A 1970 O-Pee-Chee wax wrapper is neat, although with multiple creases, while a stack of inserts (Deckle Edge, Booklets, Scratch-Offs) and a few other items, may wield some pleasant surprises. Oh, we almost forgot - there are also complete sets of O-Pee-Chee cards from 1978 (Murray RC is creased) and 1983.
