The oldest trophy competed for in North America and arguably the most famous and coveted award in all of sports, the Stanley Cup was first presented in 1893 to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association as the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup, with the current holders the St Louis Blues. This large and imposing Stanley Cup replica trophy has been signed by 46 past NHL legends, with most adding important notations including their HOF induction years. At 25” in height and an accurate model of the original, signers include Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Hull “1 Cup HOF 1983”, Gordie Howe “Mr Hockey, 50-52 54-55”, Jean Beliveau “1956-57-58-69-60-1965-66-68-69-71”, Guy Lafleur “SC-1973,76,77,78,79”, Bobby Orr, Ted Lindsay “HHOF 66 4-Cups”, Steve Yzerman “97-98-02”, Henri Richard “11 Cups” and many others. The majority of the signatures have been executed in blue marker (Orr is in black), with no issues.
The remaining signers include Marcel Pronovost, Ron Ellis, Jaromir Jagr, Chris Chelios, Brendan Shanahan, Red Kelly, Phil Esposito “1970-72”, Milt Schmidt “HHOF 1961”, Tony Esposito “1969”, Gerry Cheevers, Jacques Lemaire, Steve Shutt “HOF ‘93”, Mike Modano, Ed Shack, Bill Barber, Bobby Clarke, Ray Bourque “1 Cup 2001”, Larry Robinson, Johnny Bower “HOF 76”, Bernie Parent “Cup 1974-75, HOF 84”, Claude Lemieux, Mark Messier, Doug Gilmour, Luc Robitaille, Andy Bathgate, Yvan Cournoyer “10 Cups”, Dick Duff, Martin Brodeur “95-00-03”, Clark Gillies, Bryan Trottier, Serge Savard, Glenn Hall, Billy Smith, Frank Mahovlich, and a few others. We should also note that there are a few minor scratches and light wear visible.
