This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
The Montreal Canadiens all-time leading goal scorer, Maurice Richard would spend his entire legendary HOF career in a Habs sweater, and represent the club for eighteen seasons. This lot contains a number of desirable Rocket items totaling approx 30, with a few signed gems included. First, we have a vintage photo of Richard, Blake and Lach, with each signing (8” x 10”), followed by a players and wives photo from 1944 (5” x 7”), Dow postcard and small S. Albert litho, with each also signed. Next, we have a 1940s Richard postcard, two Dow postcards and an advertising card, a small grey “Maurice Rocket Richard” ashtray (3” in diameter), a signed pictorial Sport-Flash puck, a bagatelle game in it’s original packaging (11” x 16” x 2”), a Richard bread wrapper and blotter, 11 Richard books and more!
The books are all soft covers, with titles to include Maurice Richard (by Ed Fitkin – 3 copies), Almanach du Peuple (Richard cover), Numero 9, Monsieur Hockey, L’epopee de Canadiens (3 copies) and others. There is also a Canadiens booklet with 1961-62 team photo cover and a mini stick with facsimile Habs signatures (17”). The Richard/Lach/Blake photo is in poor condition with heavy toning, creases and pinholes, while the 1944 signed photo also shows heavy wear, with the green ink signature displaying nicely. The 1940s Richard postcard is also in poor condition with numerous creases, with the Dow signed postcard and the additional postcards showing light to moderate wear. The box of the bagatelle game shows light wear, with heavier wear from prior use for each of the books.
