A not-too-hard-to-look-at Bobby Orr rookie card leads the story of this 1966-67 Topps set, with famous card #35 recently graded FR 1.5 by PSA. No detracting creases/flaws affect the image of the then-budding superstar, with evidence of scotch tape down the left border (front) and the left border when viewing the back contributing to the low assessment. Surely one of the more attractive 1.5s one could hope for. Also not bad at all are the raw rest, with more than half crease-free and in the VG to VG-EX realm, with a small percentage attaining EX and a tad beyond. Leading two unmarked checklists is #66 (miscut, otherwise EX), with #120 multi-creased with minor paper loss (F). Please see our website for further details and numerous images - '66-67 sets are always interesting/fun to sift through.
Among the star/notable cards that you're wondering about and those which do not make it to VG, #109-Howe displays decently but is dropped to the G-G+ neighborhood by a few subtle light surface wrinkles, with enough corner wear doing the same to the crease-free 112-Hull card. The two superstars' All-Star cards are also G or G+, with Bobby's Leading Scorer entry miscut (o/w VG). Corner wear and/or creasing sends Sinden and Francis rookie cards to the same G-G+ vicinity and more so affects 1-Blake (F) and 80-Horton (F). Ten low grade cards due to back damage include 8-Richard, 62-Mikita and 63-Esposito. Enough with the lesser lights, cards in the nicer (VG-or-better) group are highlighted by 13-Sawchuk (EX), 23-Giacomin, 54-Hall, 65-Hodge/Worsley Vezina, 73-Beliveau, 77-F. Mahovlich, 78-Keon, 85-Geoffrion, 103-P. Mahovlich RC and the Canadiens and Red Wings team cards. From the last season of the Original Six era, these classic collectibles await their new home.
