Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

A Toronto Maple Leafs draft choice in 2013, goaltender Antoine Bibeau spent five seasons in the Q before moving on to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, in 2014-15. The Victoriaville native would see action with the Leafs for a pair of contests in 2016-17. From his second season with the PEI Rocket in 2012-13 before the club re-branded as the Charlottetown Islanders, we have a goal mask worn by the 2014 Hap Emms Memorial Trophy-winner. A Bauer model with intact cage, strapping and interior padding, the mask feature’s an intricately-designed paint job with “1” over the chin section, along with an image of PEI and cancer ribbon over the back plate (Bibeau stated in an accompanying article that the cancer ribbon has special meaning to him as his grandmother had died of cancer in 2012). Exhibiting nice game-use, there are large chips to the surface over the forehead and more prominently at the base of the chin, with additional edge chips throughout. A sticker from the Charlottetown Islanders numbered “20004” has been affixed to the interior of the mask, with a matching COA to accompany along with a photo and the aforementioned article.
