Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Issued for the tournament’s Canadian games that took place between Sept 2nd and Sept 8th, we have a framed 1972 Summit Series program that has been team-signed by both the Canadian and Russian squads! At approx 10” x 20” (open), the program has been signed over both the front and back covers, and placed face-down within the frame. Aesthetically pleasing with all of the approx 49 signatures scripted in matching blue ink, signers for Canada include tournament hero Henderson, along with Orr, Dryden, Mikita, Gilbert, Ratelle and others, while the signing Soviets include Tretiak, Yakushev, Vasiliev, Shadrin and others. Framed to full dimensions of approx 14” x 26”, the program displays well, with the frame in need of a re-backing (the piece displays well as is, but could use a professional backing).
The additional Canadian signers include Awrey, Bergman, Cashman, Cournoyer, Ellis, Glennie, Goldsworthy, Hull, Lapointe, Parise, Park, Redmond, Savard, Stapleton, Tallon, White, the Mhovlich and Esposito brothers, Ferguson and Harry Sinden, while the additional Russians ninclude Lyapkin, Anisin, Bilnov, Tsygankov, Ragulin, Volchkov, Mishakov and others.
