Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Apprised of the possibility of a trade just a mere two hours after winning the Stanley Cup, Wayne Gretzky was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988 after meeting with owner Bruce McNall and having his conditions met, one of which included Marty McSorley and Mike Krushelnyski joining the Kings with Wayne. Celebrating the infamous trade and produced in 2008, we have a limited-edition Kings jersey signed by The Great One. A CCM Vintage model with tackle twill team crest and numbers, Wayne has signed within the first reverse “9” in black marker, adding “The Trade” date of “8/9/1988” beneath. The signature is gorgeous, with the limited-edition number of “36/99” embroidered between the reverse numbers. A hologram from WGA has been affixed beneath the signature, with a matching COA to accompany.
