Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Featuring each and every legendary Edmonton Oiler honoured with his banner raised to the roof of Rogers Place, we offer an attractive large banner that pays tribute to the chosen nine, with each signing the unique keepsake. Created by the Oilers marketing department in 2015-16 for use around the concourse levels of Rexall Place and one of only a small number produced, the banner was autographed during the Glen Sather Banner Retirement event on Dec 11, 2015, with all nine signing one side of the banner in black marker, including Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, Kurri, Fuhr, Anderson, Hamilton, Phillips and Glen Sather. The dual-sided banner is 17 ¾” x 36” and constructed of vinyl, with a beautiful image of Wayne Gretzky hoisting the Stanley Cup, with “1974-2016” and “Farewell Season” above, and “May 19, 1984” along each right side. The signatures display well, with just a few somewhat lighter from a weaker marker. The Gretzky displays nicely, and remains fairly bold. The banner itself exhibits a couple minor folds/bends, with the vinyl just slightly separating in small areas along edges. A hologram has been affixed, with an LOA from the Edmonton Oilers to accompany.
